Although the classifier had a high negative predictive value in patients with a nondiagnostic bronchoscopic examination, 13 such patients had lung cancer and a negative classifier score (i.e., false negatives). The majority of these patients (10 of 13) had a high (>60%) probability of cancer, and only 3 patients in the group had an intermediate (10 to 60%) pretest probability of cancer.
