Oscar was born 15 January, 1870 at Shetland, Ontario and died at Calgary, Alberta in 1953. He was married at Calgary in 1908 to Margaret (Nettie) McElroy, who was born at South Mountain, Ontario on 17 May, 1872 and died at Calgary in 1952. They had one son, Milton. Oscar farmed at Carseland, Alberta on Sec. 6-23-25-W5th. He came to Calgary in 1888 and worked as a grader on the C & E Railroad. In the winter of 1888/89 he worked for Eau Claire Lumber, west of Banff. In 1889 he and his brother Franklin homesteaded six miles east of Calgary. Shortly after he moved to Strathmore and established 'Home Coulee Ranch' - 14 miles south west of Strathmore. Mrs. Moorhouse, being a graduate nurse, found herself to be in great demand of her services caring for the ill or injured neighbours. She was the only nurse between Strathmore and the Bow River. They retired to Calgary in 1944.
